Algeria Limestone Crushing Plant Case with Jaw Crusher and Impact Crusher

HAMAC supplied a stationary crushing plant for a limestone quarry near Oran in Algeria, using a jaw crusher for primary crushing and an impact crusher for secondary crushing and shaping. The on-site photos show the complete line installed in the pit, with belt conveyors carrying material between the crushers and stockpiles of different sizes of aggregates ready for dispatch.

Project introduction and solution

The raw material in this project is limestone with a maximum feeding size of about 630 mm, and the required final product sizes are 0-3-8-15-25 mm, with a designed capacity of 150-200 tph. According to the process description, the limestone is first fed into the jaw crusher by a vibrating feeder for primary crushing, then transferred to the secondary impact crusher for further crushing, and finally sent to a vibrating screen to separate the material into different grades.

The main equipment for this line includes vibrating feeder, jaw crusher, impact crusher, vibrating screen and a complete set of belt conveyors. This configuration follows HAMAC's typical crushing and screening solution for medium capacity limestone plants, where a jaw crusher is used as a robust primary unit and an impact crusher provides good particle shape and flexibility in adjusting the final output.

The customer needed a reliable production line that could handle variable feed from the quarry and still deliver stable output for local concrete plants and road projects. Before this project, they had difficulties controlling the final gradation and particle shape when using only one-stage crushing equipment. HAMAC's two-stage solution with separate primary and secondary crushers helped to increase capacity, improve the cubical shape of aggregates and achieve the target sizes more consistently.

From the layout shown in the photos, the plant is installed on simple concrete foundations inside the quarry, with conveyors arranged to minimize drop heights and reduce dust. The impact crusher and screen are positioned to allow easy inspection and maintenance, which is important in the dusty and hot working conditions commonly found in Algeria.

Design highlights and services

One of the key highlights of this design is the combination of a heavy-duty jaw crusher and a impact crusher, which gives the plant a balance between high crushing ratio, good particle shape and acceptable operating cost. The vibrating screen plays a critical role in classifying the material into the required 0-3-8-15-25 mm sizes and returning the oversize to the impact crusher for re-crushing when necessary.

Another highlight is that the whole line is simple, practical and easy to expand in the future. If the customer needs to increase capacity or add more product sizes, additional conveyors and secondary screens can be integrated without changing the main structure of the plant. This makes the solution flexible for future market demands.

During the whole project, HAMAC provided process design, equipment selection, manufacturing, delivery, on-site installation guidance and commissioning support. The service team helped the customer adjust the jaw crusher and impact crusher settings, balance the feed to the screen and train the operators, so that the plant could reach the designed capacity and produce consistent quality aggregates for projects around Oran.
