Mobile concrete batching plant working on a mountain jobsite
The mobile concrete batching plant shown in the photos is one of HAMAC's YHZS series plants, designed to integrate aggregate storage, weighing, conveying, mixing, discharging and automatic control into a single trailer-mounted unit. On this jobsite, the plant has been installed against a stone retaining wall on the hillside, with the aggregate hoppers supported by a steel frame and the inclined belt conveyor lifting the materials into the mixer. Next to the plant, a vertical cement silo with screw conveyor supplies bulk cement to the mixer, while water and admixtures are measured by load cells to ensure accurate batching for each concrete recipe.

Site layout and operation of the mobile concrete batching plant
To adapt to the mountainous terrain, the contractor built a retaining wall and installed the mobile concrete batching plant on a leveled platform, keeping the aggregate hoppers on the upper side and the mixer discharge area on the lower side. A wheel loader feeds different sizes of aggregates and sand into the four hoppers, and each material is weighed by load cells before being sent onto the belt conveyor. Bulk cement is delivered to the vertical silo by bulk cement trucks, then discharged into the screw conveyor and measured before entering the mixer, while water and admixtures are dosed automatically according to the mix design.
The twin-shaft concrete mixer installed on the plant provides strong mixing motion and continuous operation ability, ensuring rapid and uniform mixing even when the plant is working at high altitude and under large daily output. After mixing, the concrete is discharged into transit mixer trucks parked under the mixer, which then deliver the concrete to different pouring points around the jobsite, including foundations, retaining walls and slabs. All weighing, mixing and discharging processes are controlled by software on the operator's panel inside the control room, so the plant can achieve consistent quality and traceable batching records.
Benefits of using a mobile concrete batching plant on this project
By installing a mobile concrete batching plant directly on the mountain jobsite, the contractor avoids long hauling distances from city ready-mix plants and reduces the risk of delays caused by traffic and access limitations. The compact and trailer-mounted design allows the plant to occupy limited space while still providing production capacity comparable to a stationary plant, which is crucial where the available platform area is small. Thanks to the fully automatic control system, the operator can easily adjust mix proportions to meet different structural requirements, such as higher strength concrete for retaining walls and standard mixes for slabs and pavements.
When the project is finished, the mobile concrete batching plant can be dismantled and transported to the next jobsite, reusing the same equipment and reducing investment cost over multiple projects. HAMAC offers different models of mobile concrete batching plants from 25 m³/h to 100 m³/h, so contractors can select the capacity that matches their typical project size and concrete demand.
