HAMAC Spring Camping BBQ Day
As the weather warmed up and spring sunshine finally arrived, the HAMAC team packed up tents, food, and loads of good vibes for a laid-back day out in nature. No work talk, no deadlines - just a chance to chill with colleagues, bring the kids along, and enjoy a much-needed break outdoors.
Families gathered early, full of energy. Some were setting up tents and blankets, others were already opening folding tables and unloading snacks. It wasn't long before the campsite was buzzing with chatter, kids' laughter, and the smell of food prep in progress.
Picking Bamboo Shoots
One of the highlights of the day? A bunch of curious little explorers went into a nearby bamboo grove with the grown-ups and helped pick fresh bamboo shoots! They dug around, pulled them up with a lot of excitement, then sat down together to peel off the outer layers.
After the peeling session, the fresh bamboo was chopped and tossed right into the big iron pot stew. Later, when lunch was served, those same kids got to taste the exact bamboo shoots they had picked and prepped themselves - and they couldn't stop bragging about it. "I helped make this!" they said, beaming.
While the kids were busy being little farmers, the rest of the team got to work on lunch. Skewers, wings, mushrooms, sausages. Some took charge of the fire, some were brushing marinade onto meat like pros, and everyone had their turn flipping something over the coals.
On the side, the big iron pot stew simmered with meat, bamboo shoots, potatoes, and all kinds of veggies. It smelled amazing and brought a rustic, homey vibe to the whole meal. Once everything was ready, we all sat around, plates full, enjoying.
Playtime and Chill Time
After lunch, the energy didn't drop. The kids kept running around with kites and bubbles while some grown-ups lay back on mats enjoying the breeze.
The real fun started when the games kicked off. First came a round of Werewolf - full of fake arguments, dramatic eliminations, and lots of yelling "I swear I'm not the wolf!" Even people who didn't know the rules joined in just for the fun of accusing and defending. Right after that, we played "Who's the Undercover," which led to even more laughs and facepalms as the secret words got people hilariously confused.
By late afternoon, the sun started dropping and everyone slowly began to wind down. Kids were tired out from running and playing, and the grown-ups were full of food and fresh air. Blankets got folded, tents came down, and we all pitched in to clean up the site, making sure to leave the place just as beautiful as we found it.
No formal speeches, no ceremony - just a bunch of high-fives. The car trunks are filled with leftover snacks, and happy kids are napping in the back seat. It wasn't anything fancy, but it was exactly what we all needed.
Good Vibes Only
This spring outing wasn't about work at all - it was about unplugging, getting your hands dirty, tasting real food, and laughing till your stomach hurts. It was about watching kids proudly eat bamboo they pulled from the dirt, and seeing coworkers become grill masters, game hosts, and adventure buddies.
Sometimes, the best team-building happens without a plan - just some good weather, a few simple games, and time shared under the sky. Thanks to everyone who came, helped, and made memories.
